Selling (Getting Started)
Sitepaw is an online webmaster marketplace for the sale of websites, we try to keep our focus on website only at this moment. Selling on Sitepaw can be in the form of an auction for a website you would like to offer.
To get started, sign up for a free account and then click on "create a new listing". You will be led through a series of pages prompting you to tell us a little about the site, domain or service that you wish to sell. This will include the minimum price at which you wish to start the bidding, the reserve price at which you are willing to sell, and optionally a “Buy It Now” price at which you are willing to end the auction immediately. The auction will run for the length of time you specify or until the BIN is reached.
Once you have gone through this process you may be required to purchase credits for your auction to be listed.
If you’ve provided an accurate description for the item your are selling, and if you have set a fair minimum bid, you can now expect the bids to start coming in. Make sure you verify site access and add traffic and revenue statistics (if you have them) as this will help boost trust from buyers. Keep an eye on your private messages as some people may have questions before they submit a bid or BIN (buy it now).
As the seller, you must accept or reject each bid that is placed on your auction. Once you accept a bid, it will become public and the minimum bid will increase for other bidders.
If you accept a bid greater than or equal to your reserve price, you are legally bound to sell the item to the winning bidder at the end of your auction so we advise you to take your time deciding on this price.
Once the auction has ended, assuming you accepted a winning bid, it’s time to collect payment and hand over the site to the winner. sitepaw will send you an email with the winning bidder’s contact details. The details of how you collect payment and how you deliver the item are up to you to negotiate with the winner. Sitepaw recommends that you work out these details with the seller before accepting a bid.
For higher value sales we recommend using an Escrow service for your security. Also to increase your buyers confidence, you should get the site ownership verified by upload a text file and get your account telephone verified.
Good luck and happy selling!
Buying (Getting Started)
Sitepaw is an online webmaster marketplace for the sale of websites. If you want to buy a site on Sitepaw you need to participate in an auction.
To buy a site or domain that is advertised for sale on Sitepaw, you must place a bid on that item. You can also chose to "buy it now" if that option is available.
If your bid is accepted by the seller, meets the reserve price and if your bid has the highest value of all accepted bids at the end of the auction, you are declared the winner and are legally bound to purchase that item from the seller at the price indicated by your winning bid. To speed up the buying process, placing a buy it now on a site will end the auction immediately if the seller choses to accept.
When you win an auction, Sitepaw will send you an email with the seller’s contact details. The details of how you pay the seller and how you will receive the item you have purchased are up to you to negotiate. Sitepaw recommends that you work out these details with the seller before bidding.
Happy buying and good luck!
